USELESS is an exhibition to give space and value to uselessness.
Through the upgrading and evolution of technique, men have been subdued to its inertia. A capitalist inertia that moves us toward a “we want everything we can” more than making us question ourselves about “what can we want?”. We no longer dominate the technique and we’re interested in doing anything we can do.
We have the needed tools to do whatever we want, but we have forgotten the process of pausing and the humanistic thinking that are necessary to understand the repercussions that our “progress” can have upon humanity.
This way, “USELESS” aims to turn functional/useful objects into “useless” art pieces. The goal is to help understand, though these transformations, the importance and necessity of the “useless” culture and thinking (one without an economic purpose) for the retrieval of the technical domain.

INÚTIL és una exposició per a donar l’espai i el valor merescut a la inutilitat.
A través de la modernització i de l'evolució de la tècnica, l’home ha quedat subjugat a la seva inèrcia. Una inèrcia capitalista que ens mou cap al “Volem tot el que podem” més que no pas al qüestionament sobre el “Què podem voler”. Ja no dominem la tècnica ja que ens interessa fer qualsevol cosa que puguem fer. Tenim les eines necessàries per fer el que vulguem, però hem oblidat el procés de pausa i pensament humanista necessari per entendre les repercussions que el nostre “progrés” pot tenir sobre la humanitat.
D’aquesta manera, “INÚTILS” proposa la conversió d’objectes funcionals/útils en peces escultòriques “inútils”. La voluntat és la de fer entendre a partir d’aquesta transformació la importància i necessitat de la cultura i el pensament “inútil” (sense objectiu econòmic) per a la recuperació del domini tècnic.
